Admission Rules

International students and individuals without citizenship study at DonNU according to the Laws of Ukraine “On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens and Individuals without Citizenship” and “On Foreign Ukrainians”, the Decree of the President of Ukraine of 3 June, 1994 № 271 “On the Measures Aimed at Developing Economic Cooperation of Ukrainian oblasts with Near-border Oblasts of the Republic of Belarus and Administrative-territorial Units of the Republic of Moldova”, the Orders of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers of 26 February, 1993 № 136 “On the Study of International Students in Ukraine”, of 11 September, 2013 № 684 “Some of the Issues Concerning the Enrollment of Foreign Citizens and Individuals without Citizenship”, the Order of the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science of 1 November, 2013 № 1541 “Some of the Issues Concerning the Enrollment and Study (Training) of Foreign Citizens and Individuals without Citizenship” registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on 25 November, 2013 at № 2004/24536.

The foreign citizens who get state scholarships pursuant to international contracts, state programmes and other international commitments of Ukraine are enrolled after having received the invitations from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in accordance with the state order.

The foreign students who acquire education on a full-time basis at DonNU must reside in Ukraine and register in the internal affairs bodies.

Part-time studies are available for foreign students coming from the countries that have or don't have free-visa regime with Ukraine.

The foreign Ukrainians who received the invitations from Ukrainian cultural communities have the same rights in the process of enrollment as Ukrainian citizens, including the process of getting state-funded places. They participate in the contest enjoying the same rights as Ukrainian citizens.

The foreign citizens and individuals without citizenship permanently residing in Ukraine, those having got the refugee status in Ukraine, those calling for additional or temporary security and the individuals having got the Foreign Ukrainian status and staying in Ukraine legally enjoy the same rights in getting higher education as Ukrainian citizens. The abovementioned categories of individuals get state-funded places within the quota limit specified by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The foreign citizens and individuals without citizenship staying in Ukraine legally have the right to get higher education, excluding the right to get higher education at the cost of the State Budget of Ukraine and local budgets unless otherwise agreed in the international contracts approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The abovementioned individuals enjoy the same rights as Ukrainian citizens.

Other foreign citizens and individuals without citizenship have the right to get higher education at the cost of legal and natural entities unless otherwise agreed in the international contracts of Ukraine approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, regulations or agreements between higher educational establishments on Academic Mobility.

The foreign citizens and individuals without citizenship staying in Ukraine legally are enrolled in DonNU in view of the interview on the contest subjects within the licensed quota limit.

In 2015, the admission campaign for international applicants starts on 6 July, 2015 and lasts till 02 October, 2015.

The enrollment of students lasts till 13 November, 2015.

Foreign citizens may come to Ukraine for studying within the period from 15 August, 2015 till 15 November, 2015.

To enroll, international prospective students must get an invitation. The citizens of the countries establishing a visa-free regime with Ukraine (the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Moldova, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Georgia) do not need an official invitation.

Foreign citizens who do not speak Russian or Ukrainian have an opportunity to master these languages within the period of 8-10 months attending the preparatory courses at the DonNU Department of International Education. On completing the courses successfully, international students have the right to continue studying at any department of the university or at other higher educational establishments of Ukraine.
